Roads take shape at Pepper Lane as GRS presses on for Persimmon Homes

GRS Contractors is making strong progress at its Pepper Lane development in Standish, Wigan, with surfacing works now under way on the Persimmon Homes scheme.

Drone footage captured on site at 6.30am this morning shows the first sections of tarmac going down around the site’s S-bend road, an early milestone in the road-forming process that signals the job is moving at pace. The footage was taken before wet weather swept into the area, with the GRS team keen to capture progress while conditions allowed.

Pepper Lane is one of a number of active sites currently keeping GRS gangs busy across the North West, with the company continuing a long-standing working relationship with Persimmon Homes on this latest scheme.

“Seeing the black go down always feels like a milestone,” said Tom Keane, Owner and Managing Director of GRS Contractors.

“It means the job’s moving and we’re doing what we’ve done for Persimmon and other housebuilders for over 60 years - delivering. Pepper Lane’s just one of several sites we’ve got running well at the moment, and that’s exactly where we want to be.”
